When you join the Wyckoff House & Association you support the preservation and teaching of an important but largely overlooked chapter in American history – the story of New Netherland’s earliest settlers and the diverse peoples of Brooklyn’s Dutch-American farms. The Association is the guardian of the Pieter Claesen Wyckoff House, the Wyckoff family’s ancestral homestead and New York City’s oldest structure, in what is now East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Membership dollars support the upkeep of the house and the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum’s educational programs. Funds aid the ongoing effort to record and publish the Wyckoff family genealogy and other historical material related to the family and the Dutch-American farms of the New Netherland region. The Association also seeks to encourage contact between the more than 50,000 Wyckoff descendants across North America. There are three ways to target your contribution: Unrestricted contribution to provide general operating support – this helps pay staff salaries, maintenance and security for the Wyckoff House, costs associated with the Newsletter, Bulletin, and other mailings, programs and events at the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum, etc. Restricted contribution to the Endowment Fund – this builds the Association’s endowment to provide investment income to support operating expenses. Restricted contribution to the Capital Fund – this goes toward the reconstruction of the Wyckoff Durling barn at the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum as the Wyckoff Durling Education Barn. Matching Gifts: You can multiply your gift if your employer has a Matching Gift program.
