Staff and Governance

Begun c.1652, the Pieter Claesen Wyckoff House is New York City’s oldest structure and first designated Landmark. It is also a National Historic Landmark, designated in 1968. The Museum’s mission is to educate visitors about the life and customs of the diverse peoples of Brooklyn’s Colonial farms. The Museum is owned by the City of New York/Department of Parks and Recreation, administered by the Historic House Trust of New York City, and has been operated since its opening in 1982 by the Wyckoff House & Association, Inc., a not-for-profit organization incorporated in 1972. The Association’s Board is advised by the Museum Advisory Board, a group of community leaders and representatives of partner organizations.
