If you are unable to keep your scheduled trip for any reason, please let us know so we can allow others classes the opportunity to visit.
We recommend you confirm your bus a week before your trip and again the day before. The museum is not responsible for trips missed because of bus issues.
Please make every effort to be on time; contact us if you are running late. If you arrive late, we reserve the right to shorten your visit.
Maximum group size is 30 students.
Thirty students, five chaperones and class teacher(s) are included in the group fee. Any additional adults must pay the $5.00 admission fee.
Accompanying chaperones are expected to remain with their groups at all times and are responsible for disciplining the students while in the Museum and the Grounds! Please give each chaperone the Chaperone Job Description located on our website and advise chaperones to refrain from cell phone usage during the school program.
School groups typically take place from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m., Tuesday – Friday. Your time slot is reserved for your class only. We can not accommodate other classes that wish to join your group.
There is NO lunchroom facility in the Museum, but classes are invited to picnic in the Wyckoff House Park provided that they clean up.
The Wyckoff Museum is NOT responsible for pre-scheduled school closings, bus maintenance and ½ days, please be aware of them before you schedule a visit.
During the winter season, we will recognize official N.Y.C. Department of Education weather closings, but be sure to keep our phone number in your paperwork the day of the trip during all seasons.
A Wyckoff educator will guide program and lead the hands-on activities; teachers may conduct an activity in the park outside the museum after the school trip is completed.
Visiting the gift shop is fun, but it does take time; so please let the Wyckoff educator know your class is interested, and we will try to set time aside. Items range in price from $.50-$10.00.
Please advise your students of the following Museum Rules prior to your visit:
Do not touch any objects unless specifically directed to by museum staff. No food, drink, candy, or chewing gum is allowed in the museum. No running is allowed inside the museum, but it is encouraged in the park.
