Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum Group Policies

·   The Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum is a small not for profit museum; the revenue we bring in from our education program is crucial to our survival as a cultural educational institution.  If you are unable to keep your scheduled trip for any reason, please let us know so we can allow others classes the opportunity to visit. Unfortunately, a cancelled trip makes a serious strain on our budget.

·   We recommend you confirm your bus a week before your trip and again the day before. The museum is not responsible for trips missed because of bus issues.

·   Please make every effort to be on time; contact us if you are running late.  If you arrive late, we reserve the right to shorten your visit.

·   Maximum group size is 30 students. Program fees range from $5-$8 per student depending on hands-on activities.

·   Only two adult chaperones (head/assistant teachers, parents or aids) are granted complimentary admission; surplus chaperones will be charged the student’s set admission fee.

·   Accompanying chaperones are expected to remain with their groups at all times and are responsible for disciplining the students while in the Museum and the Grounds!  Please advise chaperones to refrain from cell phone usage during the school program.

·   The minimum group admission fee is $72.  Please send a MANDATORY $72 deposit 3 weeks prior to the visit.  Check made payable to: The Wyckoff House and Association Inc. Please send to: Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum, 5816 Clarendon Road, Brooklyn, NY 11203.

·   School groups typically take place from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Tuesday – Friday.  Your time slot is reserved for your class only.  We can not accommodate other classes that wish to join your group.

·   There is NO lunchroom facility in the Museum, but classes are invited to picnic in the Wyckoff House Park provided that they clean up after themselves.

·   All refunds are given in the form of a check.

·   Group reservations may be cancelled up to 4 weeks in advance.  After that point, a $20 administrative fee will be charged. If you reschedule we will only charge $10. No shows or cancellations made less than 24 hrs. prior to visit will be required to pay the $72 fee (our minimum group admission fee). Depending on availability we can try to re-schedule the class, and we will allow $40 to go towards the re-scheduled trip. If there are more than two cancelled/re-scheduled missed appointments, the paid monies can not be refunded.

·   The Wyckoff Museum is NOT responsible for pre-scheduled school closings, bus maintenance and ˝ days, please be aware of them before you schedule a visit.

·   During the winter season, we will recognize official N.Y.C. Department of Education weather closings, but be sure to keep our phone number in your paperwork the day of the trip-- during all seasons.

·   A Wyckoff Educator will guide program and lead the hands-on activities; teachers may conduct an activity in the Park outside the Museum after the school trip is completed.

·   Visiting the gift shop is fun, but it does take time; so please let the Wyckoff Educator know your class is interested, and we will try to set time aside. Items range in price from $.50-$10.00.

·   Please advise your students of the following Museum Rules prior to your visit:

ü      Do not touch any objects unless specifically directed to by Museum staff.

ü      No food, drink, candy, or chewing gum is allowed in the Museum.

ü      No running is allowed inside the Museum, but it is encouraged in the Park.
